Gold has no self awareness / S.svabhava /, but in the hands of an artist, it takes the form of a lion. Similarly, Li does not own form, but takes on any shape to which it carved out the conditions and circumstances. 

 1. To understand the principle of dependent-arising. This is to say that gold has no inherent nature of its own [i.e., no Svabhāva]. It is owing to the artistry of the skillful craftsman that the form of the lion arises. This arising is the result solely of the cause-conditioning; therefore it is called the arising through dependent-arising.

Gold hat keine Selbstheit / S.svabhava/, aber in den Händen eines Künstlers nimmt es die Form eines Löwen an. In gleicher Weise hat Li keine eigene Form, nimmt aber jede Gestalt an, zu der es die Bedingungen und Umstände ausformt.
