The lion, as such, has no reality, he is in full: Gold. The lion is unreal, but the gold is not without reality. (The emptiness) Li has no specific features of the distinction, but manifests itself in all forms to emerge. 

To distinguish form and Emptiness. This means that the form of the lion is unreal; what is real is the gold. Because the lion is not existent, and the body of the gold is not non-existent, they are called form/Emptiness. Furthermore, Emptiness does not have any mark of its own; it is through forms that [Emptiness] is revealed. This fact that Emptiness does not impede the illusory existence of forms is called form/Emptiness [sê-k'ung]. 

Der Löwe als solcher besitzt keine Realität; er ist zur Gänze: Gold. Der Löwe ist unreal, doch das Gold ist keineswegs ohne Realität. (Die Leere) Li besitzt keine bestimmtes Kennzeichen der Unterscheidung, sondern manifestiert sich in allen Formen die in Erscheinung treten.
